Drew Oetting is the co-founder and managing partner at 8VC, a Silicon Valley-based venture capital fund, which manages over $2.5 billion. At 8VC, he focuses on software and bio-IT investments. He has invested hundreds of millions of dollars in early- and mid-stage technologies and his investments have produced billions in enterprise value. He serves as a board director to more than a dozen technology companies. Oetting is a co-founder of Affinity and Anduin Technologies and is a Forbes “30 under 30” recipient.

Oetting also serves on the competitiveness council of Cerberus Capital, a $30 billion private equity fund where he advises on the impact of technology on their portfolio.

Oetting is a board member of Thorn, a non-profit, which builds technology to prevent child trafficking and LivingOnOne, an impact film making studio. He is a board trustee for the Claremont McKenna Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship and a board trustee for the Robert Day Financial Economics Institute.

Oetting grew up in Iowa City, Iowa and attended Claremont McKenna College where he received bachelor’s degrees in math and economics.
